POLYCARBONATE  INSTRUMENT GAUGE LENSES


Anti-Fog Coating  with  #2063-506-(A&BM)

 

OBJECTIVE:

 Client required an anti-fog coating for their instrument gauge lense for and outdoor sports craft. The inside portion of

the of polycarbonate lenses were coated with Hydromer #2063-506M. 

 

MATERIAL:   2063-506A and 2063-506BM (7-TS-18)

 

PROCEDURE:

 
CLEANING

1.      Cleaned the PC panels with isopropanol/lint free cloth.

2.      Air dried for five minutes.

COATING

1.                  Lenses were placed in a spin coating machine

2.                  A few drops of a 50::50 mix were added to center of lens.

3.    Spin Coated was activated

4.                  Cured at 120C (248F) for 30 Minutes.


 

CONCLUSION:    One coated lens was tested on the steam chamber set at 65C  (150F).
No fogging was detected after 3 minute exposure.
